After Care instructions.

Tattoo

  •  Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo and keep your tattoo clean.
  •  If your tattoo is covered with Saran wrap remove the wrap as soon as you get home, clean it and DO NOT re-wrap it.
  • If your tattoo is covered with View Guard or Saniderm you may keep it covered for up to 24 hours. However, if it becomes bloody remove the wrap and gently wash it.
  • Use your hand to gently wash your tattoo with anti-bacterial soap 2 – 3 times daily.
  • Let your tattoo air dry. DO NOT rub or use a fabric with a rough surface.
  • For the first 3 – 4 days rub a small amount of Aquaphor or A&D ointment on your tattoo.
  • DO NOT use Vaseline or Petroleum jelly.
  • Wear clean soft clothing over your tattoo for the first 2 weeks. If you have a tattoo on your foot, try to go barefoot as much as possible. Keep it clean.
  • After a few days your tattoo will start to peel. This is normal.
  • DO NOT pick the skin. Rub non-scented lotion on your tattoo 2 – 3 times daily for about 2 weeks.
  • DO NOT go swimming, soak in a bathtub or Jacuzzi until your tattoo is completely healed (approximately 2 weeks). Showers are fine.
  • DO NOT expose your tattoo to sun light or a tanning bed until it is completely healed. (approximately 2 weeks)
  • DO NOT wear abrasive materials such as jewelry of shoes that rub against your tattoo until it is healed.
  • If you do not take proper care of your tattoo it may become infected. Infected tattoos may be red and/or sore to the touch. It may ooze, puss or bleed.

    If you think your tattoo is infected contact a health care professional at the first sign of infection or an allergic reaction, and report any diagnosed infection, allergic reaction of adverse reaction resulting from the tattoo to the Artist and to the Texas Department of State Health Services, Drugs and Medical Devices Group, at 1-888-839-6679.

Piercing

    • Cleanse the area 3 times daily.
    • For oral piercings, do not smoke or drink alcohol until your piercing is healed.
    • Do Not expose your piercing to any ointments as, these hold dirt. Sweat and oils and can cause infection.
    • Do Not use peroxide or rubbing alcohol
    • Do Not change out jewelry until your piercing is healed (approximately 6 weeks)

      If you think your piercing is infected consult a health care practitioner at the first sign of infection or allergic reaction and report any diagnosed infection, allergic reaction or adverse reaction resulting from the body piercing to the piercer and to the Texas Department of State Health Services, Drugs and Medical Devices Group, at 1-888-839-6676.

 1/8 teaspoon Non-lodized Sea Salt & ½ cup WARM water

Cleanse the pierced area with antibacterial or antimicrobial soap, an antiseptic or sea salt solution.

Use mouthwash that does not contain alcohol or salt water mouthwash for the oral cavity.
